IntroductionThe white houses of Salobreña line the sea front around a hill on which a monumental Arab castle sits. From the top the Sierra Nevada, the Mediterranean and the fertile lands of Salobreña can be seen. The peace and being able to walk through clean streets that lead to the sea all add to the charm of Salobreña. Enjoy the magnificient views from the pier, the beaches of el Peñón and la Guardia or stroll through the Paseo de las Flores and the gardens of the castle. La Caleta and Lobres is renowned for its fried fish which is a speciality of the region. It has many views of the sea, offers sporting activities and the nights are pleasant in the cool breeze. The coast is full of surprises. The beaches of el Peñón and la Charca, where the whiteness of the houses meet the blue Mediterranean sea, are next to the beach bars. The beach of la Guardia is peaceful and has sugar cane plantations. El Caletón and el Pargo are natural coves hidden in the cliffs that line both sides of the coast of Salobreña. These beaches, which span almost 5km in length, have coarse sand, are clean and offer a wide range of services for bathers in secure and pleasant surroundings. |
Beaches of SalobreñaSalobreña The beach of Salobreña, also known as La Cagadilla, is the longest and widest in an agricultural area and stretches to the end of the town of Motril. La Charca o Solamar  This long and relatively narrow beach has a friendly atmosphere and offers a good range of services. It has a pier behind which there are various tourist landmarks. La Guardia  This long beach is surrounded by plantations and offers some services. A rocky wall separates it from the beach of la Charca.El Caletón This small isolated cove has a beautiful sea bed but does not have many services. El Cambrón  This small beach is next to the town of Torre del Cambrón. It is difficult to access and offers no services. |
