Cortadura BeachThe beach of La Cortadura is almost 4000m in length making it the longest in Cadiz. It is 60m wide and stretches from Cortadura to Torregorda. This sandy zone, to the south of Cadiz, links Cadiz to the town of San Fernando. It is one of the most unspoilt beaches in the area and is considered to be a “playa virgen”. This beach, formed by a series of sand dunes, has been the focus of numerous studies, in particular evolution. This marine area has a rocky seabed. Cortadura’s beach, of fine golden sand, has an area of almost 550,000 square metres of which 163,500 square metres is used for sun bathing. The beach has been awarded a total of seven blue flags. La Victoria BeachThe beach of La Victoria, in Cadiz, is known for its physical characteristics and its reputation. It extends to the edges of the city and occupies the western side of the isthmus on which the city stands. The fortress of Cortadura, whose pier disappears into the sand, constitutes the southern city limits. To the north, the edge is marked by a rocky reef. It is 2500m long and following a series of regeneration works to widen the beach is now 185m wide. A promenade stretches along the entire beach. This busy beach, which was one of the first to receive a white flag in 1987, has to this day maintained its excellent standards. |
